Personal support for job seekers: from access to provisions to leaving unemployment for work
Stéphane Jugnot, Éric Renard, Thara Traversier
The personal action plan was implemented in July 2001. It emphasises the support given to job seekers and the prevention of long-term unemployment. An initial interview allows the job seeker to be directed towards a service that entitles them to a range of provisions. This service varies according to the unemployed person's profile. Therefore, former managers and lower management are more often directed towards a level of service that gives them more autonomy. Unemployed people further removed from the labour market, such as those receiving income support (RMI) or welfare benefits, receive more support. A third of job seekers benefit from at least one provision, with half of them attending a workshop.
