Conducting the population census
Since 2004, the population census has been based on annual surveys, with total national coverage achieved in five-year cycles. The initial goals set when this new method was launched have been achieved:
- results are updated regularly and released on schedule,
- the workload is better distributed over time than with the previous exhaustive census procedure.
