Household mobility: family and work constraints
Thierry Debrand, Claude Taffin
Household mobility levels vary according to age, education levels, family structure, professional status and housing characteristics. Thus the number of home moves decreases with age. Moves over short distances tend to be linked to transitions in family structure, whilst moves over long distances are more often associated with job changes. Mobility rates increase with urban unit size and are greater than average for households living in problem urban areas.
