The Defence Industry Survey is a statistical survey of defence industry enterprises (excluding micro enterprises).
The main characteristics to describe the data are the share of military turnover, as well as their degree of involvent in military research and development.

The industry is restricted to divisions 20 to 33 (except 32 except group 325) of the french classification of activities (NAF) in order to target the products of the arms industry.

The survey focuses on the industrial sector of defense.

The main variable studied is the share of turnover in the different markets, functions and products.

The entity selected is the legal unit.
