Data collection was performed by Capi (computer-assisted data collection) from June 2013 to June 2014.
The latest surveys were conducted in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2001 and 2006.

The survey sample, including the regional and local extensions, covers over 54,000 dwellings, including 51,000 out of Mayotte island (42,000 in Metropolitan France and 9,000 in the overseas departments) and 3,000 dwellings surveyed for the first time on Mayotte island.

Ordinary housing were drawn from the annual Census survey of the 2011.

Further samples were made :
- A subsample of new housing is also drawn in an external database.
- A specific sample complement for sensitive urban zones has been achieved. This extension was equivalent in size to the previous survey and contained 6,000 address files.

About 36, 000 households agreed to answer.
