Survey of the production of non-hazardous waste by industrial etablishments

The purpose of the survey of the production of non-hazardous waste by industrial establishments is to estimate national production of non-hazardous waste by industrial establishments (including agri-food industries) reporting on the year n-1, by physical volume and classed by type of waste and by sector of activity.

This themed survey only deals with non-hazardous waste. Data on hazardous waste is obtained by consulting the annual  administrative declarations for hazardous waste fulfilled by establishments (database on directory polluting emissions directory : BDREP, Ministry of sustainable  development).

This survey follows on from other surveys, notably the one conducted in 2005 on 2004 by the Environment and Energy Management Agency (Ademe) and the French Institute for the Environment (Ifen), on practically the whole industrial field.

In 2007 (reporting on 2006), the survey of production of non-hazardous waste by industrial business sectors was conducted by the Industrial Studies and Statistics Service (Sessi) of the Ministry for Industry.

From 2009 (reporting on 2008 and 2012), the survey is carried out by INSEE.
