The objective of the quarterly business tendency survey in real estate development is to provide early information on the evolution of real estate developers and the new housing market, for the purpose of short-term diagnosis and forecasting of the activity of developers and more broadly of the construction sector.
The quarterly survey of business conditions in real estate development makes it possible to transcribe the promoters' opinions on their recent activity and their business prospects. The business leaders interviewed give their opinion on the level of demand for new housing, their prospects for new housing starts, their unsold housing stocks, the evolution of land and new housing prices, the means of financing devoted to housing acquisition.

The survey was conducted for the first time in 1969.
