The decree of July 20th, 2012 modifying the decree of January 11th, 2008 creating a BPE identifies three audiences, corresponding to three levels of diffusion.

  • The public files and thematic databases on insee.fr : these are counts by type of equipment, up to the level of the Iris, over the entire territory including the five overseas departments. Detailed files are also put online containing the equipment with their coordinates (x,y) and, where applicable, additional characteristics in the areas of education and sports-leisure. Since 2018, an evolving database over a five-year period offers, depending on the geographical level, counts or presence/absence indicators by type of equipment.
  • An extract from the database is provided free of charge since the application of the law of October 7th, 2016 for a digital Republic, to persons of public law and to persons of private law charged with a public service mission, more commonly called regional public actors (APR), subject to the signing of a user license. APRs can have the file in their jurisdiction with additional variables (company name, address) : https://www.insee.fr/fr/information/1303398
  • The file for contributors (BPE suppliers) is provided free of charge within the framework of agreements.

The diffusion of studies from the BPE is authorized.
