Multiannual

The survey is biennial and each survey covers a three-year period. CIS2012 (eighth survey) covers the three years 2012, 2011 and 2010.
It took place between June and December 2013.
It is carried out via the Internet, with the possibility of replying by paper on request. Companies receive a letter with the survey cover letter containing the internet link and the username and password to complete the survey online.

Legal unit

The CIS2012 sample is taken directly from the SIRUS file and consists of approximately 22,300 companies. It was set up in such a way as to also ensure representativeness, on all or part of the sectoral scope of the survey, in the following 9 regions: Auvergne, Corsica, French Guiana, Limousin, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Pays de la Loire, Picardy, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Rhône-Alpes.
