The prices of each raw material are recorded by external suppliers on the reference markets.

The following products are taken into account by the price indices of imported raw materials (excluding energy) :

• Food commodities: arabica, robusta, cocoa, tea, palm oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, rapeseed oil, broad beans and soybean meal, wheat, corn, rice, sugar, beef  meat, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, shrimp;

• Agro-industrial raw materials: wool, cotton, natural rubber, cattle hide, wood pulp, sawn tropical timber, sawn softwood;

• Mineral raw materials: iron ore, iron scrap, copper, nickel, aluminium, lead, zinc, tin, chromium, cobalt, lithium, molybdenum, silver, gold, platinum and palladium.

Simultaneously, INSEE publishes the price of North Sea crude oil (Brent) listed at London, the price of natural gas on the European market quoted in the Netherlands (TTF) and the price of uranium (U3O8) quoted at the New York Mercantile Exchange.
