In Q4 2024, the house prices of metropolitan France were virtually stable: +0.1% (seasonally-adjusted data), after a stability in Q3 2024. These two quarters followed six consecutive quarters of decline. Prices of second-hand dwellings were virtually stable (+0.1% compared with the previous quarter, after -0.1% in Q3 2024), while those of new dwellings were up slightly for the second quarter in a row (+0.3%, after +0.9%).

In Q4, house prices were virtually stable

In Q4 2024, the house prices of metropolitan France were virtually stable: +0.1% (seasonally-adjusted data), after a stability in Q3 2024. These two quarters followed six consecutive quarters of decline. Prices of second-hand dwellings were virtually stable (+0.1% compared with the previous quarter, after -0.1% in Q3 2024), while those of new dwellings were up slightly for the second quarter in a row (+0.3%, after +0.9%).

Year on year, house prices continued to decline

Year on year, house prices fell again, but at a slower pace: -1.9% in Q4 2024, after -3.5% in Q3 2024. This decline was driven by the drop in prices of second-hand dwellings (-2.1% after -3.9%), while prices of new dwellings rose slightly anew (+0.4%, after -0.3%).
