Employment continued to rise in 2022

Between the end of 2021 and the end of 2022, employment in France rose again sharply, by +444,000, following an unprecedented increase in 2021 (+981,000 jobs, according to the revised estimate). Salaried employment increased by 349,000 jobs in 2022, driven by the market services sector, and to a lesser extent, by the industry and construction sectors. Non-salaried employment continued to rise in 2022 (+96,000), at a slower pace than in 2021.

In 2022, for the second year in a row, employment increased in all regions, and particularly in the French overseas departments.
