In September 2023, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased by 0.4% over a month, after +0.3% in August. In large and predominantly food stores, these prices decreased also by 0.4% over a month, after +0.3% in August.

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, prices were stable, after +0.5% in August.

Considering all kinds of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods decreased by 0.3% over a month, after +0.4% in August.

Year on year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets slowed down for the fifth consecutive month

Compared to those of the same month last year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets slowed down for the fifth consecutive month: +10.2% in September 2023, after +10.9% in August, +12.5% in July, +13.8% in June and +14.6 % in May. In large and predominantly food stores, prices rose by 10.3% year on year, after +11.1% in August.

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, the prices of frequently purchased goods increased by 10.9% year on year, after +12.1% in August.

Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods rose by 10.3% year on year, after +11.2% in August.

Year on year, food prices in hyper and supermarkets slowed down again

Month on month, the prices of food and beverages (excluding fresh produces) sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased by 0.4% in September 2023, after +0.3% in August. Year on year, these prices slowed down for the fifth consecutive month: +10.5% in September, after +11.4% in August, +13.1% in July, +14.4% in June and +15.1% in May.

The prices of meat sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased by 0.3% over a month, after +0.2% in August. Year on year, these prices slowed down: +8.7%, after +9.4% in August.

The prices of beverages sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased by 0.5% over a month, after +0.3% in August. Year on year, they slowed down: +8.6%, after +9.2% in August.

The prices of “other food products” decreased by 0.3% over a month, after +0.3% in August. Year on year, they slowed down: +12.0%, after +13.1% in August.

Year on year, the prices of cleaning and personal care products slowed down again

Month on month, the prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased by 0.9% in September 2023, after +0.4% in August. Year on year, they increased by 8.1%, after +8.3% in August.
