This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2016 – Bagnoles-de-l'Orne devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Bagnoles de l'Orne Normandie (61483) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Bagnoles de l'Orne Normandie en lieu et place des communes de Saint-Michel-des-Andaines (61431) et de Bagnoles-de-l'Orne (61483) devenues déléguées.
