France, third country in the European Union for metal treatment and coating

France is the third country in the European Union for metal treatment and coating in terms of billings, behind Italy and Germany. Among the various processes, painting and varnishing of metal surfaces predominate in France. The legal units in this branch of activity are mainly subcontractors; they are most often located near their principals and are spread throughout the country. The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Grand Est regions, however, account for a third of the workforce.
