17 March 2023 · n° 67In February 2023, oil prices in euros increased slightly, food commodity prices accelerated Prices of oil and raw material imports - February 2023
In February 2023, the prices of oil in euros increased slightly (+0.9% after +0.1% in January). The prices in euros of imported raw materials (excluding energy) slowed down (+1.3% after +1.9%): those of industrial raw materials edged down (‑0.3% after +3.8%) and those of food commodities accelerated (+2.8% after +0.3%).
The weights of non-energy commodity indices have been updated with import data for 2022, resulting in revisions of these indices for January 2023 (see the methodology note attached to this publication). Furthermore, as part of the improvement in the monitoring of raw material prices, the prices of steel scrap, paper pulp and rubber have been replaced by sources that are better suited to this monthly publication than those used previously. This leads to slight revisions of the aggregate index series.
