France, Europe’s third largest producer of packaging

In 2019, French production of packaging products rose to €18.3 billion. Packaging activities represented 4.7% of non-food industrial employment. This share is higher in Normandy and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

France is the third largest producer in Europe after Germany and Italy. French billing amounted to 13% of European production. There is a negative trade balance, except for wooden containers.
