Sales of market services plunge in 2020 after slowing down in 2019

In 2020, activity will decline drastically: household services, with the exception of rental accommodation, has been strongly affected by the closure of establishments open to the public from mid-March onwards. Activity in the accommodation and restaurants services has fallen sharply. Different situations are observed in business services: advertising, temporary employment, administrative activities and security face difficulties, while consultancy and computer and information services are resisting.

In 2019, sales by businesses in market services slowed down after an exceptional year in 2018. Their average annual growth nevertheless remained solid (+4.2% in volume after +4.7%). This growth is mainly due to computer services, restaurant services, engineering, consulting and real estate activities dedicated to firms.
