Going to study somewhere else after the baccalaureate: between geographical influence and education opportunity
When entering higher education, 6 out of 10 students who have passed the French baccalaureate choose a different sector of employment than the one in which they completed their studies. This mobility depends on the diversity of local education available. It also varies according to young people's social background.
However, academic changes at entry into higher education are less frequent: they only concern 2 out of 10 graduates and in just over half of the cases, they also involve moving. This mobility mainly concerns neighbouring academies.
