Insee FocusInvestments aimed at protecting the environment fell once again in 2017

In 2017, the industrial establishments with 20 or more employees devoted 1.4 billion euros to investments or studies aimed at protecting environnement, 2% less than in 2016. 67% of the expenditure is coming from four sectors: energy, chemistry, the agri-food industries and metallurgy/metal products. 40% of the amounts invested are aimed at protecting air pollution or climate change.
