In 2017, an employee in the regional civil service received on average 1,944 euros net per month per full-time equivalent ; this average includes all civilian employees of local authorities, whatever their jobs and categories, whether or not they were civil servants. Between 2016 and 2017, the average net wage rose by 1.0% in real terms.

Civil servants account for nearly 80% of full-time equivalent staff in the regional public service. Their average net wage increased by 1.0% in real terms. For non-civil servants, including subsidized contracts, it increased by 1.2%.

The average net wage was 1,843 euros net per month in the municipalities, 2,078 in the regions and 2,159 euros in the departments. Women's net wages were on average 9.1% lower than men's, after 9.2% in 2016. With identical characteristics, the gap narrowed to 4.9%.

For employees present throughout both years 2016 and 2017 with the same employer and the same work quota, i.e. almost two out of three employees in the regional public service, the average net wage increased by 1.8% in real terms. This includes career advancements and seniority gains of these employees.
