Ines microsimulation model is used to simulate the effects of a change in the amount of major transfers in France on standard of living. More precisely, an exceptional rise and fall of 1%, 3% and 5% taking place on 1st January 2016 are simulated for the amount of the Revenu de solidarité active (RSA), the minimum support for older people (Aspa) and disabled adult (AAH), the Prime d’activité, the monthly family allowance base (Bmaf), the housing allowance scale, the income tax rate brackets, and the CSG and CRDS tax rates. This article presents the effects of these variations on inequality and poverty indicators, household standard of living per decile, total household disposable income (and thus the cost or gain for budget), and changes in the amount of transfers and number of concerned households.
