In 2018, the value of agricultural output grows by 4.7%. Crop production rebounds significantly, thanks to the increase of both wine volume (+28.5%) and prices of cereals, vegetables and potatoes. Conversely, the value of animal output decreases, due to the drop in pork prices. At the same time, farmers’ expenses go up (+1,7%) after four years of decline, due to the energy price recovery. As purchases do not increase as much as production, the agricultural added value would strengthen significantly. Besides, agricultural labour keeps declining. Eventually, according to the first estimates of the agriculture account, the gross added value at factor cost per worker in real terms would rise by 6.7% in 2018, after an increase of 8.6% in 2017.
