IT companies still expanding rapidly
The contract IT services sector is very dynamic: its average added-value has increased by 3.6% annually in value terms since 2000. Employment has grown at a steady pace over the recent period. Groups generate most of the turnover (84%) in this sector. However, the sector is moderately concentrated, despite the presence of a few major players. This sector is structured around specialised groups and also includes large IT subsidiaries from other sectors. For their overseas business, large companies primarily opt for local subsidiaries, while medium-sized companies export more from France. Staff is highly qualified, with high wage levels. The proportion of women is low (25% of employees) and remains stable.
