In 2015, a civil servant of the public hospital service (FPH) earned an average salary of 2,239 euros net per month in full-time equivalent; this average takes into account all those employed at hospitals or medical-social institutions, whether they civil servants, contractors or medical staff (doctors, pharmacists, dental surgeons).

Between 2014 and 2015, that average net wage rose by 0.6 % in constant euros. This increase was virtually equal across identical statuses and grades: an agent in 2015 received an average of 0.5% more than an agent of the same status and the same grade in 2014.

The average net wage of hospital civil servants rose by 0.6 %, driven by the increase in the average wage of category C workers following revisions to their grading scale. That of contractors, excluding medical staff, rose by 0.7% and that of medical personnel, which had stagnated between 2013 and 2014, increased by 1.2%.

In 2015, wage disparities decreased slightly except at the top of the wage scale. The net wage of women remained 20.9% lower than that of men, but, with assuming equal status, age, employment sector and hierarchical category, the gap is reduced to 3.6%.

In 2014 and 2015, employees working all year for the same employer, with the same work time quota — i.e. almost two out of three employees in hospital civil service — see their average net wage increase by 1.9 % in constant euros. This reflects their increasing seniority and their career progression.
