In February, output soared in mining and quarrying; energy; water supply (+11.5% after −6.3%)

Output soared in electricity, gas (+13.2% after −6.9%) because of exceptionally cold temperatures in February.

Output recovered in “other manufacturing” (+0.3% after −2.5%)

Output rose in “other manufacturing” (+0.8%), in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (+0.7%), in pharmaceuticals (+1.4%), in chemicals (+0.3%) and in the manufacture of wood, paper and printing industries (+0.2%). On the contrary, it decreased in the manufacture of rubber and plastics products and other non-metallic mineral products (−1.3%) and in textiles, wearing apparel, leather and related products (−1.5%).

Output grew again in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.7% after +2.0%)

Output continued to grow in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.7% after +2.0%) due to a new rise in the manufacture of other food products.

Output went up in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+1.9% after −0.8%)

After a fall in January (−0.8%), output bounced back in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+1.9%).

Output continued to decline in the manufacture of transport equipment (−3.2% after −0.8%)

Output fell back in the manufacture of other transport equipment (−4.7% after +1.0%) and decreased again in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (−1.3% after −2.8%).

Output slipped back in machinery and equipment goods (−2.8% after +1.7%)

Output slipped back in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (−3.6% after +0.9%) and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (−3.2% after +3.4%). It decreased in the manufacture of electrical equipment (−0.7%).
