In 2016, employment rose across all regions
In France, employment picked up considerably between end-2015 and end-2016: +252,000 individuals, following the +124,000 posted the previous year. That dynamic surge came from salaried employment, in particular in services to businesses. In contrast, non-salaried employment continued to slide, except in the non-merchant service sector, where it was on the rise. In 2016, for the first time since 2006, employment rose across all regions it was most dynamic in Occitanie and Pays de la Loire.
