Analysing migratory flows between France and the rest of the world between 2006 and 2015
In 2013, France’s migratory balance was +100,000. There were more people born in France who left the country than returned, thus their migratory balance was negative (-116,000 people). Conversely, this balance was positive for immigrants (+204,000), as there were more arrivals than departures.
From 2006 to 2011, the migratory balance decreased (+112,000 in 2006 and +30,000 in 2011), then increased until 2013. Between 2013 and 2015, arrivals continued to rise, both for people born in France and for immigrants.
