2015-2016 Winter tourist season Stable results, saved by February and March

Visitor numbers during the 2015-2016 winter season in short-stay tourist accommodation in metropolitan France were stable overall, compared to the previous winter. They fell sharply in the Paris urban area and moderately in the ski resorts, but increased in the rest of the country. Overall, greater visitor numbers in February and March offset the declines in December and January. In Paris, the impact of the attacks of 13 November was severe in December and then faded. It was more pronounced for foreign clientele.
