Agricultural Income in 2014

Marie-Hélène Blonde, Guillaume Lubatti et Alexandre Bernaudeau

In 2014, in the EU 28, the value of agricultural production decreases significantly, the increase in production volumes did not offset the sharp decline in prices. The value of intermediate consumption also decreases with input prices. Overall, the agricultural factor income per labour unit declines slightly in real terms; its level is almost stable since 2011. In France, according to the most recent provisional data, this income recovers clearly (+ 10,5%), after the sharp drop of 2013. This increase results essentially fromwine and milk productions. The French surplus of foreign trade in food products is reduced from 11,7 to 9,7 billion euros, mainly due to export price declines
