In 2005, economic growth decreases in all the trade sectors, as in the whole of the French economy. The strongest progression is always in the wholesale trade sector (+ 2,8% in volume); it is carried by the wholesale of machinery, equipment and supplies and one of household goods, as in 2004, but also by the agricultural raw materials. In the retail trade (including bakery and delicatessen), the slowdown affects particularly the most dynamic sectors, like the nonfood goods in specialized stores and pharmacy. But thre grow of food retail sales increases. The sales of the motor vehicules trade and repair increase in volume, but less than in 2004; however among them, the repairing activity decreases as well as the retail of fuel. In the whole of the trade, salaried employment grows only slightly (+ 0,3 %) as the previous year. And it increases only in the retail trade. The number of firms in the trade sectors increases slightly, exclusively inside the retail trade.
