Mid-size enterprises in France - very industry oriented
In 2011 in the non-farm market sector, France was home to 3.14 million enterprises, of which 5,000 mid-size companies (ETI). Excluding the financial sector, ETI represented 23% of employees and 23% of value added. On average, they employed almost 700 employees and included 10 legal units. They were overrepresented in manufacturing and among foreign-controlled enterprises. In foreign-controlled ETI, one in two employees worked in industry.
