Professionals, excluding healthcare providers, work in three main fields: law; consulting and living-environment services; finance and insurance. In 2007, self-employment income for these categories of professionals averaged €74,800. Law is the field that generates the highest earned income and it is also the most feminized. Whatever their specialty, these professionals are old and highly skilled, and their earnings increase with the length of working career.
