Définition

Job security benefits are paid to dismissed workers who have signed a job security contract. The amount is calculated using the same formula as regular unemployment insurance (UI) benefits for employees with less than one year of seniority in the company and is equal to 75% of the daily reference wage for the others. Only the wages of the employment contract that was terminated are taken into account. The amount of job security benefits cannot be lower than the amount of UI benefits that the employee would have received otherwise.
