Définition

The Combined Nomenclature (CN) is the classification used in the European Union for collecting and processing data on foreign trade. It has been in force since 1988. Annual revisions of the CN are prepared and adopted in the form of legal acts and published in the Official Journal of the European Community. This classification is based on the Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System (HS) covering all the products that can be the object of international transactions and have a physical dimension.

The General Classification of Products (NGP) is a version of the Combined Nomenclature for France.
