Définition

Youth Employment Contracts (CEJ, or NSEJ for "new youth employment services ") were created in 1997 for unemployed young persons under the age of 26 and those aged 26 to 30 who cannot receive allowances from the Unedic. Their purpose is to develop activities of social utility meeting urgent or unsatisfied needs. They can be signed by schools, the Police, local authorities, public institutions and associations. Employee pay is partly covered by the State (up to 80% of the minimum wage). The employment contracts have a 60 month term or may be open-ended contracts in the associative sector, and are full time (apart from express exemptions).

Remarque

The creation of new jobs within the youth employment framework has no longer been possible since the end of 2002, resulting in the suppression of the system in time; the recruitment of new employees remains possible for the replacement of an employee who resigns from an existing position. Measures have been taken to try to continue these jobs in the associative sector.
