Définition
A household (or "ordinary household") in the sense of the census survey describes all the persons sharing the same main residence, without these persons necessarily being blood-related. A household can be constituted by a single person. There is equality between the number of households and the number of main residence.
Remarque
Persons living in mobile dwellings, mariners, the homeless and persons living in collective dwellings (workers' hostels, retirement homes, university halls of residence, remand establishments, etc.) are considered as living outside a household.
