Définition

The industries producing capital goods cover activities producing durable goods used mainly to produce other goods.

These industries correspond to the code EE in the NES classification, the summary economic classification which was in use until december 2007 :

  • shipbuilding, aeronautics and rail construction ;
  • mechanical equipment ;
  • electrical and electronic equipment.

There is no such grouping in NA, the agregated economic classification which replaced NES since 2008. The precise perimeter of capital goods in each statistical operation is given by the list of the items taken into account in the economic classification to which the operation refers.
