Définition

The collective consumption expenditure of general government covers the sovereign functions (or governing functions or general administrative functions) of government bodies: the justice system, defence, police etc. Indeed, we can not assign the benefit of these public utilities to one or several household in particular (as opposed to public health service for example) they benefit the community in general.

Collective consumption expenditure represents one of the two elements of the final consumption expenditure of general government (cf. Individual consumption expenditure of general government).
