Définition

The sector of general government (S.13) consists of the institutional units whose main function is to produce non-market goods and services or to perform operations involving the redistribution of income and national wealth and whose resources mainly come from compulsory contributions paid by other units from other institutional sectors.

The sector of general government includes legal entities vested with executive, legislative and judicial powers.

The general government sector includes central government (S.1311), local government (S.1313) and social security funds (S.1314).
