Définition

Conditional release may be granted to a person sentenced to one or more prison terms, providing he or she presents serious guarantees of social re-adaptation, when the duration of the sentence served is at least equal to the duration remaining to be served. When the sentence given does not exceed 10 years, or the remaining duration to be served does not exceed 3 years, conditional release is granted by the judge responsible for the execution of sentences. In other cases, conditional release falls within the competence of the court responsible for the execution of sentences.
