2024 summer tourist season Attendance in collective touristic accommodations slightly declined

Attendance in collective tourist accommodation during the 2024 summer season did not reach the particularly high level of the 2023 season. Non-resident customers returned in greater numbers, but not enough to offset the decline in resident attendance. Only campsites attendance increased in 2024, driven by non-resident tourists, particularly from Europe, while attendance from neighboring countries declined in hotels. Mountain areas were slightly more attended than in 2023, unlike coastlines. Despite Paris Olympic Games, the total summer attendance (through May to August) decreased in Île-de-France's collective tourist accommodations.
