In 2016, gross energy consumption in industry amounted to 36.5 million tonnes of oil equivalent. It rose by 2%, after +1% in 2015. These rises in 2015 and 2016 are linked with those in production in the manufacturing industry. At the same time, energy prices continue to fall (-8% in current euros after -6% in 2015), mainly due to the decline in gas, steam and oil prices. It amounted to €13.1 billion in 2016. Gas and electricity remain the most higly-used energies.
