Définition

Active population forecasts aim to understand the future changes in labour resources (number of active workers), in the sense of the ILO, available to contribute to production. Forecasts are generated for a range of demographic development and business behaviour scenarios. We therefore possess estimates of the size of the active workforce over a relatively long period of time (2005-2050 for the active population forecasts published in 2006), broken down by gender and five-year age bracket, along with an estimate of their average level of activity over the course of the year.
