Définition

The spontaneous (or self-declared) labour force includes those persons asked to position themselves within the various categories of the labour force.

This approach is therefore based on the direct declaration of the persons in the census bulletin, and differs slightly from the approach "in the sense of the population census" which is not totally spontaneous because the persons declaring themselves to be unemployed and moreover not seeking a job are classified as inactive persons.
