In Q2 2020, house prices in metropolitan France were higher compared to the previous quarter (+1.7%, raw data). Year on year, the increase in house prices intensified (+5.5% after +4.9%).

Year on year, the rise in house prices intensified

In Q2 2020, house prices were higher than in the previous quarter (+1.7%, raw data). In detail, second-hand dwellings prices increased by 1.8% (after +1.1% in the previous quarter); new dwellings prices decreased by 0.2% (after +0.5% the previous quarter).

Year on year, the increase in house prices intensified (+5.5% after +4.9% in the previous quarter). Second-hand dwellings prices grew much faster (+5.8% y-o-y) than new dwellings prices (+2.3%).

Revisions

The Q1 2020 indices were revised to include observations recorded after the previous publication. The year-on-year variation in new dwellings prices in Q1 2020 was revised upwards compared to the previous publication (+4.7% instead of +3.9%). Conversely, second-hand dwellings prices was very slightly revised downwards (+4.9% instead of 5.0%). All in all, housing prices year-on-year variation in Q1 2020 did not change (+4.9%).
