In march, output slipped back in “other manufacturing” (−2.0% after +1.4%)
Output slipped back markedly in pharmaceuticals (−10.1% after +4.2%), in chemicals (−4.7% after +3.7%) and more moderatly in other manufacturing, repair and installation of machinery and equipment (−0.5% after +0.4%) and in manufacturing of rubber and plastics products, and other non−metallic mineral products (−0.5% after +1.8%). It was still decreasing in the manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel, leather and related products (−0.8% after −3.7%). Conversely, it grew in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (+0.5% after a virtual stability) and in the manufacture of wood, paper and printing industries (+0.7% after +1.1%).
Output kept diminishing in mining and quarrying; energy; water supply (−0.6% after −3.6%)
Output slipped back particularly in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (−1.1% after −4.3%) because of milder temperatures in March 2019 than usual.
Output decreased sligthly again in the manufacture of food products and beverages (−0.2% after −0.3%)
The increase in the manufacture of prepared animal feeds and in the manufacture of vegetable and animal oils and fats did not offset the decrease in the manufacture of other food products, in the manufacture of beverages and in the processing and preserving of meat and production of meat products.
Output slipped back in petroleum and refined products (−1.9% after +0.5%)
Output slipped back in petroleum and refined products because of a technical stop due to an incident in a raffinery.
Output was virtually stable in the manufacture of transport equipment (after +2.3%)
Output slipped back in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi−trailers (−0.3% after a virtual stability) and slowed down in the manufacture of other transport equipment (+0.2% after +4.1%).
Output bounced back in machinery and equipment goods (+0.9% after −1.5%)
Output bounced back in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (+3.0% after −3.8%). It kept growing in the manufacture of electrical equipment (+0.5% after +0.5%). Conversely, it slipped back in the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (−1.1% after a virtual stability).
